We’re jamming on the window sill today!

Branford, CT’s Thimble Island Brewing Company was founded in 2010 by CT natives Justin Gargano and Mike Fawcett—a couple of technology professionals that really loved brewing beer in their apartment. They had no formal brew training, but just two years later, they sold their first pint of beer at KC’s Pub in Guilford, CT. Today, Thimble Island has grown to be the largest self-distributing micro-brewery in the state. Not bad, right?

The Windjammer is a pretty good beer for a hot summer day. I got this growler during my visit to their tasting room, which was a pretty fun time. If you’re local, check Groupon for tour deals… they have some good ones! The Windjammer was pretty solid–a crisp and clean ale with golden American wheat and hints of fruit and citrus. It wasn’t my favorite beer that day, but I liked it enough to growl it up.
