We’re overcome with passion on the window sill today!

Beer first. That’s the philosophy under which Mike and Lisa Hinkley established Green Flash Brewing Company in San Diego in 2002. They, along with Brewmaster Erik Jensen, keep that spirit alive today by constantly experimenting with their ingredients and recipes, and I think they’re doing a pretty good job. These days, Green Flash is among the more respected craft breweries in the country. For them, beer is a labor of love, and it shows… particularly with today’s window sill beer, the Passion Fruit Kicker.

Passion fruit can be hit or miss for me, as I often find the flavor to be a bit too subtle, but the Kicker proved to be quite refreshing. The base is a wheat ale. The kick comes from gobs of passion fruit juice and passion fruit tea. Not much else to say. If you like fruit-flavored beer, this is a solid one for a hot summer day.
