We’re celebrating the most important holiday in the world on my window sill today. Happy National Beer Day!

On April 7, 1933, President Franklin Delano Roosevelt signed the Cullen-Harrison Act into law. The act allowed for the legal sale of low-alcohol beer in the United States. For the first time in 14 years, Americans could legally have a drink. Sure, it was a very weak drink (4% and below), probably more suitable for children, but hey, there wasn’t a limit as to how many you could have! Anyway, several months later, Prohibition was all-together over, and Americans could be happy again.

Today, on National Beer Day, I salute our hero, FDR, with this tasty Long Trail Brewing Company India Pale Ale. Is it the best beer ever? No. But thanks to FDR, you can go have a million of them if you want!
