Ready for breakfast on the Window Sill today?
More than a decade ago, Founders Brewing Company co-founder, Dave Engbers, was working behind the bar of the brewery’s Michigan taproom, when a patron pulled out a bag of chocolate-covered espresso beans. Engbers took a bean, chewed it, and washed it down with a sip of Founders’ porter. That mix of flavors is what inspired Engbers to brew what has now become one of the company’s most revered brews: The Breakfast Stout. Thanks to Allaboutbeer.com for that story.
The Breakfast Stout is one of my favorite beers on the market today. Founders calls it the “coffee lover’s consummate beer.” It’s brewed with tons of flaked oats, imported chocolates and two types of coffee. Stout Season isn’t for everyone, but you need to try this beer—especially if you’re in on the KBS and CBS hype.
