Quadruple Can Release from 30 Mile Brewing Co. on Saturday, Dec 9

It’s time, once again, for everybody to come aboard the CT Can Release train! Here at Beers on Window Sills, we like to drink local, and do I have a hell of a release to tell you Nutmeggers about! This Saturday, starting at 1PM, Old Saybrook’s 30 Mile Brewing Co.—you might be familiar with them from my visit back in August—is getting set to release four different cans at their taproom.

The release day coincides with Old Saybrook’s historic Torchlight Muster and Carol Sing, a 45-year tradition involving fife and drum corps from all over the state, and even some from as far as Pennsylvania, parading to the Town Green and singing holiday carols. Sounds like a good time to me.

The parade starts at 6:OO PM, and 30 Mile will be represented in the march. The brewery will then host an after party back at the brewery starting at 7:00PM. So here’s what you should do: Head to 30 Mile at 1:00PM for cans and delicious beers, then go check out the parade. Afterwords, celebrate the fun time you just had back at the brewery for more cans and beers!

In case you’re curious, here’s the can release lineup, in order of their appearance on the photo at the top of this post:

Baby Fight Club – American IPA, 7.1% ABV, untappd rating 3.73, #hopbomb

Totes Blond – Belgian Blond Ale with hints of orange and banana, light bodied, with a twist of spice. ABV: 6.1%, untappd rating 3.46

Sofa King Juicy – Bright and hazy this New England style IPA has strong grapefruit, lime-zest, pineapple and passionfruit notes. Some sediment may appear in the bottom of your glass, if so give it a swirl and enjoy! ABV: 6.5%, untappd rating 3.80

The Brown – This is our take on an American Brown ale. It has a great light roasted coffee aroma, followed by a rich smooth malty backbone. The dry brown malts and the American style yeast blend perfectly together to give you this well rounded beer. ABV: 6.5%, untappd rating: 3.64

Are you heading down to 30 Mile to pick up your cans? If you do, make sure to take a picture of it and share it using the #beersonwindosills hashtag on Twitter or Instagram, and by tagging @beersonwindowsills (Instagram) or @beersonsills (Twitter).

Enjoy some Connecticut craft beer, Window Sillers! Also, kudos if you were with me on that Godfather reference… you know who you are.
