Zdravstvujtye, Comrades! Are you ready for some Russian influence on the sill today?

Bloomfield, CT’s Back East Brewing Company opened its taps in 2012, by cousins Tony Karlowicz and Edward Fabrycki, Jr. Edward had been home brewing since his days living in San Diego in the early 1990s, and Tony just loved craft beer and always wanted to open a brewery. Hopefully, this family business continues to make awesome beer for a long time!

That brings us to the Ex Machina, an imperial Russian stout that is part of Back East’s Hammer of the Gods Series (their big beers, “not for the faint of heart.”) It’s full-bodied, dark and very tasty, with delicious roasty notes and some chocolate and coffee flavors to round out the flavor palate. Another perfect beer for Stout Season.
