Let’s welcome BBCO back to the window sill today!

A few weeks ago, I reached out to Burlington Beer Company via Instagram DMs, and ended up having a nice little conversation with founder and Brewmaster, Joe Lemnah. What a gracious dude he is! I found out all sorts of little tidbits about not only today’s window sill beer, but also about BBCO at large. Did you know that artist Steve McDonald, who is currently based out of Sweden, makes all of their can art? Steve and Joe grew up together in Essex Jct., Vermont, and he currently based in Stockholm, Sweden.

The Elaborate Metaphor, an American Pale Ale, is brewed year round. Like many of BBCO’s brews, it too has a funky name. According to Joe, the name is “half making fun of ourselves for our elaborate names, and half honoring a powerful literary technique of an extended (elaborate) metaphor.” Gotta love a brand that knows when to poke a little fun at itself, especially when they’re this good at what they do. The Metaphor is citrusy and refreshing, but still tastes like a beer. A damn good beer. For those of you eager to go get one of these, BBCO only distributes Vermont right now, but here’s hoping we start seeing them in our local stores soon, because I’m all out of BBCO beers!

Thanks again to Joe from Burlington Beer Company for graciously speaking to me.

Check this one out on Instagram, now!
