It’s time to bring da Chicago beers to da windowsill!
Chicago’s Half Acre Beer Company was started by Gabriel Magliaro in 2006. The company originally used the facilities at Wisconsin’s Sand Creek Brewery to make its beer. In 2008, the first Half Acre brewery opened up on Lincoln Ave in Chicago. In 2012, a taproom was added (super smart move), so that people could enjoy the beer in person. In 2015, with the company thriving, but production maxing out, a second brewery was opened up on Balmoral Ave. Although they only brew three bears year-round these days, they make dozens of seasonal, special release and collaboration beers.

The Double Daisy Cutter is one of those special release brews that come out once a year. It’s “monster version” of their year-round Daisy Cutter pale ale. Whether it’s weight, flavor or strength, the Double Daisy Cutter has more of everything that makes the regular Daisy Cutter great.
