It’s not even May yet, and the window sill is making its third trip to Montauk!

Montauk Brewing Company was started by three longtime friends, Eric Moss (the brewmaster), Vaughan Cutillo (the marketing guy) and Joe Sullivan (the biz dev guy) in 2012. They got their start like many local breweries, delivering their hand-filled kegs to local bars on the East End. While most people use trucks for that kind of thing, these guys did it the Montauk way, on bicycles. These days, New York’s Easternmost Brewery makes its beers like its owners live their lives: with a sense of adventure and passion.

The Driftwood Ale is an English Pale Ale known for its copper color and super easy drinkability. The Montauk guys did a great job balancing the hops with the malts in what they call their flagship ale. It’s got some sweetness to balance out the bitter too. Overall a solid year-round beer.
