We’re bringing some style with ease to the window sill today, courtesy of NYC.

Although their base of operations is in Manhattan, Third Rail Beer is another in the growing trend of “Gypsy Breweries” that make their beers at other breweries’ facilities. Native New Yorkers Loren Taylor-Raymond, Kaitlyn Haubrich and Larry Koestler launched Third Rail in 2014 using their own unique recipes and ingredients, but the facilities of Rhode Island-based Newport Storm Brewery.

This was my first foray into Third Rail, and I must say I was pretty impressed. The Steez is juicy, hazy and brewed with Wakatu and Citra hops and lots of wheat. Some Citra dry-hopping puts the icing on the cake. Very solid brew. Who needs a brick and mortar facility when you can make beer like this?
