When it comes to Sixpoint Brewery, the story that most needs telling is the one about their logo. The six-pointed star has been the international symbol of brewing since the 1300s, when beer makers put one on every barrel. It eventually became the official mark of the Brewer’s Guild. According to Sixpoint’s website, that’s one of the earliest trade guilds in Europe. Allegedly, the six points refer to grain, water, hops, yeast, malt and the brewer: the six keys to good brewing. Head over to Sixpoint’s website for more on this intriguing insignia.
The Sweet Action is a cream ale from the Mad Scientists at Sixpoint. It’s got some upfront sweetness that ends up balanced by a little bit of a bitter finish. Very refreshing. Very crisp, but not overpowering in flavor. I try to have this one whenever I see it available. Definitely one of my favorites.
