The Windowsill is even more “Windowsill” today!
If there’s one thing that makes Evil Twin Brewing memorable, it’s those crazy names. In our Aún Más Café Jesús post, we talked about the origins of the series of “Even More” beers. So, why is today’s beer known as the Even More JCS? According to the can, sometimes a “beer maker rises beyond mortal stardom into a higher godly league,” and so they need a fancy name… like Jean-Claude. I don’t get it either, but the JCS is definitely Jean-Claude-worthy.
I can’t tell you how good the JCS was. It’s an “affogato-style” imperial stout brewed with lactose, and also with vanilla and coffee added. Affogato, which means “drowned” in Italian, is a coffee-based drink usually made up of espresso over ice cream. That’s a pretty solid way to describe this beer. It’s creamy AF. Seriously. I felt like I was drinking melted ice cream. It had an awesome sweet coffee flavor and, for a 12% big boy, not very boozy at all. My only regret? Not making a stout float out of this one. So delicious!
