Let’s compare Black Houses on the window sill today!

Five months ago, I had the Black House Nitro on the window sill. Today, we have the regular year-round version, the Black House. It’s essentially the same beer, but the Nitro is carbonated with nitrogen, which, in my opinion made it a little creamier and a little smoother.

That being said, the regular version is nothing to sniff at. It’s still a creamy, chocolaty, oatmeal stout that bursts with the flavor and aroma of Modern Times Beer‘s own coffee beans. The San Diego-based brewery is actually one of the only breweries that roasts their own coffee beans, so you know they’re always going to pick top notch beans for their beers. If push comes to shove, I’ll still choose the nitro version, but the CO2-carbonated version ain’t bad at all.
