Let’s celebrate Independence Day with an American IPA on the Window Sill!

Last time we had a Hooker on the sill, we talked about the brewery’s name (go back and find the Nor’easter Winter Lager to find out). Today, let’s talk about the brewery’s history. First of all, it was originally founded as the Trout Brook Brew Pub in Hartford. Unfortunately, Trout Brook went under in 2000. In 2002, it was reopened by a group of investors, and closed again the next year. Eventually, the company was rescued and resurrected by a group of investors headed by current “Emperor” Curt Cameron. Cameron moved the company to Bloomfield and renamed Thomas Hooker Brewery in 2006.

Since then, they’ve been putting out some awesome beer, and the #NOFILTER IPA is no exception. The flavor and aroma are super fruity and bright. Very citrusy and mouth-wateringly tropical. The taste was just as good as the nose. This one’s a home run! Now I have to get my hands on the DIPA version!
