Modern Times Week continues on the sill today!
The Countermagic was, well… magical. Modern Times Beer brewed this with tons of Enigma, Mosaic, Cascade, Denali and Simcoe hops. The finishing touch for them was to add a “borderline irresponsible” amount of Citra cryo hops. What is Citra cryo? It’s basically what happens when beer people discover science.
From what I can gather, the hops are cryogenically separated (not cryo-frozen, like Han Solo). The two byproducts of this separation are LupuLN2—super concentrated lupulin—and Debittered Leaf—a concentrated bract of whole-leaf hops. What does all that mean? The hoppy, dank, delicious flavors are super intensified, creating a beer that I found pretty amazing. All the hops with much less bitterness on the finish. Magic!
